Dolores Mallea
Agave Americana
Before coming to PADA, Dolores wanted to work on folk furniture.
After the tour to the Industrial Park and the History Museum, Dolores felt the need to know more about the history of the plant fibers at CUF (Companhia União Fabril). Below, the book that celebrated the 50 years of CUF, the previous Industrial Park explorer and find how it inspired Dolores into changing the subject of her work. Read below.

While in her research, Dolores has found an essay about Agave Americana (link below). This helped her track the origins of the plant and create correlations with the map to the left of this text.

Dolores wrote the poem below while taking multiple journeys from Barreiro to Lisbon, even though she doesn’t consider herself a writer. She wrote it from the perspective as it was mother earth talking with the parts that are constantly extracted from her.
